Teambuilding in Echo

So, anyone notice I was unreachable since Friday (23/3/2008). Just got back from a 3 day 2 night team building. Since I had mention it before here, I won't mention it again.

We departed around 3pm. Everyone was just so hype. That includes me. Boarded the bus and we end up at Echo Park. Echo Park is a rain forest halfway up Genting, wanted to Google the website but end up at some clothes retail link. So no link. Popular place for team building cause many people were there team building besides us. Even some Uni students. Must the latest trend nowadays to have team building in the jungle.

The team building is one of the best I had been to. The activities were fun but I guess age is catching up. The obstacle course was really challenging. We had to do it under pouring rain! One thing good about the rain was, the leeches were hiding. Bad thing is everything was just slippery.

When we had to crawl under the barb wire, we were literally swimming in mud water. The smell..... wash 1o times also cannot go away. Lucky I had the foresight to buy a pair of cheap shoes. I felt all my limbs are detached and soaked in lactic acid by the end of the day.

So tired, and they like to throw last minute stuff at you cause the whole theme of the team building is limited resource and ever changing environment.

We even had to do a performance for 10 minutes. We know this prior and we even had a practise session. But sometimes unexpected things happen. We were the second last to perform and by the time it's our turn, I was so tense I almost shitted on the floor. Luckily I was constipated so I didn't. Well despite all our practise, almost everyone forgot what they are suppose to do, so we end up doing whatever we can think off. As for me the narrator, my life is never the same after that night. I got new name, and that is "Ratu Goreng". What to do, since we just leave it to act of God. Luckily God is merciful, despite our bumbling mistakes which the audience think we did them on purpose, everyone had a good laughing time. One even fell down from his chair laughing.

We won the best stage performance. Isn't that GREAT! Once I got the video I will post if up for all to see. Dunno if the effect is the same or not. I think none of us ( in my team) really expected to win. We just main goreng only and I guess we just jive! It's a real good feeling. Although I will forget the hardship of this team building, the euphoria of the performance that we did, will remain with me for a very very long time.

140 odd people in this event..
